CrossFit 2600 is committed to improving our members’ potential through top class coaching. To ensure more people get the benefit of our expertise we run Basics Classes as an introduction to CrossFit.
Basics Classes are open to new members of the gym and will incorporate all the skills needed to tackle group classes with confidence. As well as skills it will include a short WOD (workout of the day) to try out what you have learned that day and reinforce technique in a training environment.
The classes run three times a week and new Team 2600 members will need to attend at least six sessions to ensure you have all the skills and experience necessary to join our daily WODs. Classes run 6.30am Monday, Wednesday and Friday for an hour.
Group classes for people who CrossFit primarily for health and fitness, this class is for the majority of our members and follows the introductory Basic Classes. The class is one hour and involves all the elements of functional movement that make up CrossFit training, all scaled to suit your level of fitness and ability. The focus is on a fun workout whilst learning new skills. Classes run Monday to Saturday but we advise a three days on, one day off or two days on and one day off program – it is important to rest and recover between workouts to get the most benefit from your training. The class WOD (workout of the day) is posted daily, but don’t use the WOD to choose your training days, keep to a training schedule and do what comes up, you will see vast improvements in your fitness in your fitness this way. For those wanting to do CrossFit but not the technical weightlifting … or for those of you struggling to find the time to get in, this class is for you. A shorter (30 minute) bodyweight-based class which still has the intensity to get you into peak condition in no time at all. This is a super fun and efficient way of improving your fitness and still be a part of our awesome CrossFit community.
Olympic Lifting Classes
The class focuses on training and improving the mechanics and technique of the Olympic lifts; the Snatch, and Clean and Jerk. Olympic Lifting Classes are suitable for all levels of experience from beginner to advanced. One class per week – 1hr.
The Gymnastics Class is a CrossFit specific gymnastics class, focusing on bar, rings, floor movements and body positions used in the CrossFit program. . Gymnastic Class is suitable for all levels of experience from beginner to advanced. Class length 45mins.
Mobility Classes and Functional Movement Screening
The Mobility Classes use MFR, bands, balls, bars and other tools to perform basic maintenance on yourself, to prevent injury, resolve pain and improve your body’s mechanics. We also offer a Functional Movement Screen which provides a reliable baseline to screen and evaluate movement, you will receive an individualised program to aid performance and recovery. Class length 30mins.
Our personal trainers have a wealth of knowledge and experience. They provide the basis for personal development in all aspects of health and fitness during one-on-one sessions. Our trainers specialise in weight loss, body composition, ante natal/post natal exercise, injury pre/rehabilitation, sport specific training, lifestyle management, health and orthopaedic issues. We are experts in helping those who are new to exercise start the journey towards a better life, we offer support and structure and hold you accountable to ensure success. Our personal training isn’t exclusively for those starting out; if you want to take your fitness to the next level or want specific weakness training we have fantastic coaches who will work with you to help you to achieve your goals.
